A Series of Successes

"The fool doth think he is wise, but the wise man knows himself to be a fool."
William Shakespeare
Introductions
This website is intended as a guide to my academic and limited professional careers. My three years of arduous work in the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh's French and International studies department were trying, but I wouldn't trade them for anything in the world. When I first began, I knew that I wanted to connect with as many people as possible in my professional and personal life. International studies is the perfect discipline for this because it is all about identifying and improving relationships: between states, between businesses, between cultures, and between people. Now, through diversified coursework and unique experiences I can consider myself an adept in these areas.

My Experience in Research and Writing
Analyzing Social Media's Role in the Arab Spring
Here I analyze the impact of burgeoning social media networks in facilitating the 2010 political movements known as the Arab Spring. The analysis is primarily focused with case studies in Egypt, Libya, Syria and Tunisia. Written for an honors composition class, I used it to develop my research, citation and narrative abilities.
Issues Faced in Building Haitian Democracy
This paper examines the past two hundred years of history and governance in Haiti with the goal of identifying challenges to democracy building and legitimacy in the developing state. Topics include Haitian class conflict, foreign intervention and the drug trade. It was a real challenge due to difficulties in finding corresponding research, but this allowed me to theorize and draw more of my own conclusions.
A Comparison of the French and American Revolutions (FR)
I wrote this research assignment during my study abroad in Normandy, France in spring of 2018. While not as technically impressive as the research I have done in my English political science courses, this comparison between the French and American revolutions allowed me to view both historical events through a new cultural lens and improve my use of French syntax.
The Russian Great Recession
Russia and the West have a tumultuous relationship at the moment, and an excellent non-military example of that relationship is the financial crisis of 2008-2009. My goal with this paper was to analyze fiscal data and related policy from the period in order judge Russian response to the crisis, while at the same time making the subject approachable for laymen.
